RAWALPINDI: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Khurram Ali suspended the station house officers (SHOs) of Sadiqabad and New Town for inefficiency, negligence and lack of interest in the abduction case of a family.

Mohammad Gul Taj (Sadiqabad) and Aizaz Azeem (New Town), have been asked to report to the Police Lines Headquarters.

The SHOs were suspended after Haroon Ishtiaq Abbasi, the head of the family allegedly abducted from Sadiqabad, along with Ijaz and family members met the RPO after being recovered.

In an application to the RPO, Ijaz Abbasi pleaded for justice and demanded protection and legal action against the abductors.

According to the application, goods worth Rs2.5 million were also stolen from the house and the police were not even ready to register a case and recover the valuables.

The affected family leveled serious charges against SHO Sadiqabad Mohammad Gul Taj and SHO New Town Aizaz Azeem. Following the complaint, the RPO appointed the senior SSP legal as the inquiry officer with instructions to submit a report by September 30.
