LAKKI MARWAT: Three policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, were injured in an exchange of fire with a group of proclaimed offenders in Bachkan Ahmadzai area of Lakki Marwat district on Sunday night, an official said.

He said the exchange of fire took place in the limits of Serai Gambila police station. He identified the injured cops as ASI Asif Iqbal and constables Javed and Habibur Rehman.

The official said local authorities dispatched additional police force to the area when they learnt about the gun battle. He said the wounded policemen were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tajazai.

A large contingent of police was engaged in combing the area in search of the proclaimed offenders.

Meanwhile, district police officer Tariq Habib visited the hospital and enquired after the injured cops.
