LAHORE: The Board of Revenue (BoR) and the Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs on Monday discussed demarcation of the land of the state of Kashmir falling in some of the Punjab districts, as well as their classification and mapping.

The discussion was held in a meeting jointly chaired by Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Secretary Babar Hayat Tarar and attended by secretary colonies Muhammad Khan Ranjha, secretary Shafqatullah Mushtaq and other officers.

Deputy commissioners of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Jhelum participated in the meeting through a video-link.

The meeting reviewed rental value of state land in Punjab, as well as recovery, future plans and exchange of government lands, besides discussion survey and tenancy issues.

Registration of state land in GB on the Punjab Land Record Authority model was also discussed. During the meeting, the Punjab relief commissioner assured the federal secretary of full cooperation in all matters and instructed all the DCs concerned to complete the task within the stipulated period.

Mr Javed also directed the chief settlement commissioner and secretary revenue to monitor all the related matters.
