KARACHI: Kashan Tariq, Ahtesham Humayun, Rayan Ahmed and Hamid Israr won their respective matches in the boys Under-18 category as the first-round of the Shamsi Academy National Juniors Tennis Championship was concluded here at the DA Creek Club on Monday.

Kashan defeated Muneer Derbari of Hyderabad 6-3, 6-2 while Lahore’s Ahtesham downed Abdul Rehman Amir 6-1, 6-3. Rayan Ahmed also progressed into the next round after beating Ibrahim Noman 6-4, 6-3 and Hamid Israr of Rawalpindi got the better of Shamoon Hidayat 6-1, 6-4.

Boys Under-14 singles: Faiz Ilyas bt Mustafa Naveed 4-0, 4-2

Boys Under-12 singles: Majid Ali Bachani bt Arman Ali 4-0, 2-4, 4-0; Rashid Ali Bachani bt Syed Sufyan 4-1, 4-0; Muhammad Ali Bhand bt Naayel Sohaib 4-1, 4-2

Boys Under-10 singles: Ashar Bhaila bt Rahim Faisal 4-0, 4-1

Boys Under-18 doubles: Hamid Israr (SNGPL)/Ahtisham Humiyun bt Muqeet Baloch/Jagdesh 8-0

Men’s singles: Shumael Tajammul beat Imran Abid 8-0; Farhan Altaf bt Ammar Ismail 8-0; Farhan Mustafa bt Rehan Dulara 8-0; Parbat Kumar bt Bilal Soomro 8-3; Rayan Ahmed bt Ali Mansoor 8-5.
