MIANWALI: After a day-long hectic efforts on Thursday, the district administration with the help of religious leaders succeeded in easing religious tension in Kalabagh town between Sunni and Shia sects.

Police contingents rushed to Kalabagh to avoid any untoward incident. Mianwali DPO Motiullah Khan ordered the Kalabagh SHO to register an FIR against the main accused whose utterances flamed the tension.

The SHO took prompt action and arrested the accused in the evening.

Deputy Commissioner Sajjad Ahmed Khan and the district police officer also rushed to Kalabagh, 45km from here, and called leading ulema of both sects.
