MARDAN: An anti-terrorism court here on Thursday confirmed bail before arrest (BBA) of 124 workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in the May 9 riots case.

The court was presided over by Judge Syed Ubaidullah Shah. Lawyers Riaz Khan Paindakhel, Jawad Ali and Islam Khan Wardeg represented the PTI workers in the court.

After completion of the arguments from both sides, the ATC confirmed BBA of 124 PTI workers. The court rejected the bail pleas of two PTI activists. The bail application of PTI worker Haroon was dismissed after hearing of arguments while the other worker identified as Farhad was absent on the occasion.

The PTI workers, whose bail applications were accepted, also included former lawmakers Zahir Shah Toru, Abdus Salam Afridi, Tufail Anjum and Iftikhar Ali Mashwani.
