SUKKUR: Ghotki police claimed to have arrested a suspect who had axed his mother, sister, and three young nieces at his house at midnight on Wednesday in the Anwarabad locality within the limits of A-Section police station.

Police said area SHO Qalib Ali Shah, on the directives of Ghotki SSP Muneer Ahmed Khuhro, mounted a search for the suspect identified as Imran, son of Rahim Bakhsh Tragar, and arrested him from Mathelo Chowk.

They said the suspect had killed his mother Marium, 55; sister Samina, 25, and nieces Iqra Liaqat, nine, and Ayat Liaqat, six, and wounded his third niece Soorat who succumbed to injuries in the taluka hospital.
