LAHORE: The Gujjarpura police took into custody a teenage girl on Friday shortly after she reportedly shot dead her father.

The 14-year-old girl used a pistol, and the bullet struck her father’s head, proving to be fatal.

A police official said the initial statement provided by the girl to the police was distressing, as she claimed that her father had been sexually assaulting her.

In connection with this case, the police also detained the girl’s mother for questioning. The police official said due to the involvement of the teenage girl, they were taking extraordinary precautions in handling the case.

He said the police would initiate a murder case once they obtained necessary verifications from relevant people.

The girl would undergo a medical examination as part of the investigation.
