RAWALPINDI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday started routine cleaning of rubber deposits from the main runway of Islamabad International Airport (IIA) which would continue till next Saturday (Sept 30).

According to the NOTAM (notice to airmen) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) the main runway will be unavailable from 5:30am to 8:30am in the morning and from 10:30am to 1pm due to the cleaning.

The spokesman said during the period when main runway would be closed, alternative runways would be available to ensure uninterrupted flight operations.

The notice has directed pilots to exercise caution while landing and taking off.
