KARACHI: Shazia Syed, former CEO of Unilever Pakistan who is currently leading the Unilever North Africa, Iraq, and Levant business, has been recognised as one of the prestigious Forbes Middle East Global Meets Local Top 100 2023.

According to a press release, the list explores how multinational corporations are effectively navigating the unique landscape of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region while contributing to economic growth, development, and cultural integration.

This year, the list features 103 executives from 100 companies, 33 different sectors, representing 41 nationalities.

Ms Syed, who originally hails from Abbottabad, began her career as a management trainee at Unilever Pakistan, and has headed many global Unilever divisions and businesses in the past as well. She led the personal care business for the company in Vietnam, was CEO for Sri Lanka and global executive vice president for Unilever’s beverage business before her current role. She is a trailblazing marketer, richly insightful business leader and a champion for women’s inclusion.
