TAXILA: Three women received serious burn injuries in fire caused by gas leak in village Bahadur Khan in the limits of Hazro Police station in Attock on Tuesday, police and hospital sources said.

According to sources, due to gas load-shedding in the area, the gas stove remained open in the kitchen and when the gas returned it filled the house.

As soon as the wife of Khan Nawaz tried to light the stove, the fire engulfed the house inflicting burn injuries to three women. All the injured were rushed to the district headquarters hospital Attock, from where one of them was shifted to Holy Family Hospital due to her critical injuries.

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was crushed to death on GT Road near Asifabad in the limits of Wah Saddar Police Station on Tuesday.

Police sources said that 35-year-old Farhan Latif, an employee of a sensitive organisation, was going on his motorcycle when a speedy dumper bumped into him, resulting in his death on the spot.
