OKARA: Senior Civil Judge Abrar Ali Khan, on the request of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), granted eight-day physical remand of Khawar Maneka who was arrested in a case registered by Okara ACE.
Deputy District Public Prosecutor Hasan Raza Kazmi sought 13-day physical remand of Maneka for further investigation into the case but the judge gave eight days.
The court directed the investigating officer to produce Maneka in the court on Oct 4.
In the evening, Maneka filed an application for the constitution of a medical board, which was dismissed by court.
Khawar Maneka, his two sons, Ibrahim and Musa, and three other people were booked in the corruption case.
Maneka had allegedly built a marriage hall and shops on the land of graveyard in Haveli Lakha.
An inquiry is underway against him on the report of the Okara deputy commissioner.
