LONDON: An ceremony to transfer the ex-Pakistan Navy Ship Tariq to the UK took place at the Pakistan High Commission on Monday, where Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest.

The ship, which was decommissioned by the Pakistan Navy on August 4 this year, has been donated by Pakistan as a goodwill gesture to FOCI for conversion into a floating museum on the River Clyde.

The ceremony was attended by Admiral Lord Alan West and David O’Neill, the director of FOCI, veterans of the Royal Navy and representatives of Pakistani community in the UK.

Ex-PNS Tariq served in the Royal Navy as HMS AMBUSCADE for 18 years before being integrated into the PN in 1993.
