LAHORE: The ad-hoc imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Management Committee on the Islamabad Regional Cricket Association and the Sahiwal District Cricket Association was suspended by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and the Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench, respectively.

The PCB earlier in September suspended elected bodies of both the associations but the courts suspended the orders on the basis that ad-hoc cannot be imposed through ex-parte inquiry and ex-parte order of the PCB.

Speaking on the matter, Islamabad Cricket Regional Cricket Association president Shakil Sheikh termed imposing ad-hoc on his association draconian and political victimisation for raising a voice against PCB Interim Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf and his dictatorial policies.

Zaka was appointed IMC chairman on July 6 to hold the elections of PCB chairman in four months. However, so far he has not given any roadmap to hold the elections, despite getting the reminder from the Inter-Provincial Coordination ministry to announce the electoral college for the election of PCB chairman.

Zaka’s four-month tenure is ending on Nov 5.
