GILGIT: The Rakaposhi cricket tournament 2023 will be held at the world’s highest natural stadium of Pissan Nagar on October 3 and 4 aims at promoting peace, harmony and festivity.

Traditional and sword dances, holding of stalls of local foods, fruits and handicraft and gemstones would also be arranged at the site.

The Pissan natural stadium stands at an elevation of 8400 feet above sea level at the foot of the majestic Rakaposhi among most beautiful peaks in the world. The Rakaposhi mountain also called the mother of mists is the 27th highest peak on earth and 12th highest in Pakistan.

According to a press release issued by GB Chief Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, the cricket tournament will be held in Pissan natural stadium in the district of Nagar.

Teams from Diamer, Hunza and Nagar will participate in the two-day activity. Besides cricket matches, there would be shamanism, tug of war competitions and other games.

National and international tourists and a large number of people from across Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to participate in the event. According to the local administration, arrangements for the event have been finalised.
