TAXILA: A man allegedly shot and killed his pregnant wife over a domestic dispute in Ghourghushti village in the Hazro town of Attock district on Monday, police sources said.

According to sources, Shuja Shah had contracted a second marriage three years back after the demise of his first wife.

The couple had not been on good terms for the past many months. On Monday, after exchange of hot words over a domestic dispute, Shuja Shah allegedly took out his gun and showered bullets on his wife, who died on the spot even before getting medical assistance.

The suspect managed to escape from the scene and fled with his gun. The body of the victim was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy.

The Hazro police have registered a murder case and launched further investigation.

In another incident, Jand police arrested a man for subjecting torture to his daughter-in-law and her sister over a family feud in the Aurangabad area.

Her father-in-law visited their house in everybody’s absence and attempted to take his daughter-in-law against her will and upon resistance, he allegedly subjected her to severe torture.
