HARIPUR: A woman and her daughter were shot dead in a remote village of Khanpur tehsil, the police said here on Monday.

The Khanpur police said a son of the woman was accused of the double murder, but the motive behind the killing was not yet known.

They said an unknown caller informed them by phone that Shah Zeb, a resident of Mohallah Joriyan Qutba, had shot dead his mother and sister over unknown reasons.

The police shifted the bodies to the trauma centre for autopsy.
