KASUR: Rescue 1122 divers on Wednesday claimed to have recovered bodies of three out of the four children thrown by their father in Mustafabad canal some days back.

Muhammad Azeem of Village Panju in Kahna (Lahore) took four of his children including his lone son Ghulam Sabir (12), Seema Bibi (9), Nabeeha (5), and Ayesha (2) for a picnic on Oct 1 but threw them into Mustafabad canal and pretended that the children were kidnapped by unidentified suspects.

He also reported the matter to local police. Azeem had five children including a son and four daughters.

Later, police arrested Azeem suspecting him for his changing statements to police.

Rescue recovered the bodies of Sabir, Seema, and Ayesha and were striving for the fourth sibling, Nabeeha.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies to DHQ hospital for autopsy. The rescuers on Wednesday stopped the operation due to darkness and would resume the search on Thursday (today).
