KOHAT: Commissioner Mohammad Ali Shah launched an app to address grievances of people regarding cleanliness.

The app titled “Osho” has been developed by Orakzai Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Tayyab Abdullah and his team. The app will help to effectively achieve the national goal of a clean and green Pakistan.

According to a statement, Mr Shah said on the occasion that in order to keep it within administratively manageable limits, Osho, which in Pashto meant ‘done’, initially allowed uploading of images relating to municipal services including removal of sewerage, garbage and roadside debris or construction material.

The app would also have a strong accountability component whereby any official not performing in a satisfactory manner would be penalised as per the provisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Civil Administration (Public Service Delivery and Good Governance) Act, 2020 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2011.

STRIKE ENDS: The protesting workers of Water Supply and Sanitation Company (WSSC) ended their strike the other day after getting assurance from the deputy commissioner that they would be paid their two-month withheld salary soon.

The workers resumed water supply from tubewells. WSSC deputy general manager Tahir Afif told Dawn that tehsil municipal administration had to pay Rs320 million for payment of salaries to 550 WSSC workers.
