LAHORE: PTI, which went dormant after the May 9 attacks and the arrest of party chairman Imran Khan, now plans to revive with a public meeting at Liberty Roundabout on October 15 (Sunday).

PTI Central Punjab has formally applied to the deputy commissioner of Lahore, requesting permission for a mass public meeting in preparation for the upcoming general elections.

In the application, PTI Central Punjab’s additional general secretary, Sardar Azeemullah Khan, states that the party aims to inform the masses about the PTI’s programme and intends to hold the meeting at Liberty Roundabout at 7pm on October 15.

While the application has been received by the deputy commissioner’s office, permission has not yet been granted, it is learnt.

PTI central Punjab and Lahore district office-bearers celebrated the party chairman’s birthday by cutting a large cake, designed to resemble the PTI’s red and green flag.

Mr Azeemullah Khan and Lahore district president, Advocate Jamil Asghar Bhatti, cut the cake at a ceremony at Fane Road.
