Climate conference

BAHAWALPUR: A climate conference sponsored by the divisional administration in coordination with the UNDP and UNICEF was held at the Old Campus of the Islamia University (IUB) here on Sunday

Speaking on the occasion, Bahawalpur Divisional Commissioner Dr Ehtasham Anwar Mahaar said there was an urgent need to raise awareness for the provision of clean environmental conditions for the future generations.He said developing countries had been badly affected by pollution and contamination.

The conference was also addressed by UNDP’s Ms Sumera Jabeen,UN Women’s Ms Sidra Humayun, Prof Dr.Abdul Rashid Gill, retired principal of the Quaid-i-Azam Medical College (QAMC) Prof Dr Javed Iqbal.
