RAWALPINDI: Police have asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to immediately inform the police if two suspects, including Farrukh Imtiaz Khokhar, whose wife was found dead in her husband’s Dhoke Gangal house on Sunday, intended to leave the country.

According to sources, the murder case, registered with the Airport police on the complaint of Ali Raza, the brother of the deceased against her husband and her brother-in-law.

Details of the case were sent to the FIA immigration at all airports across the country to prevent the suspects from leaving the country.

According to the murder case, the complainant said that his sister Ramsha had married her cousin Farrukh Khokhar, son of Imtiaz Khokha alias Taji Khokhar about 14 years ago and the couple had four children.

He further stated that Farrukh’s behavior was not good with his wife since their marriage and he used to threaten to kill her. He said in the FIR that he and another brother-in-law rushed to Farrukh’s house and found his sister hanging with her dupatta tied around her neck.

He suspected that Farrukh killed his sister in connivance with his brother Samar Imtiaz. Following his complaint, a murder case was registered against the two who went into hiding.

In view of the apprehension of Imtiaz Khokhar and the other accused named in the FIR fleeing abroad, their whereabouts, photographs and relevant records including the FIR have been sent to FIA Immigration and it has been recommended that the names of the accused be placed on Provincial National Identification List (PNIL) to prevent them from leaving the country.

The police have also been getting help from modern technology including human intelligence to arrest the accused and hoped that they would be arrested soon. The FIA is legally authorised to place the names of people (wanted by police or any other law enforcement agency) on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) for 30 days during inquiry.
