LOWER DIR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl district chief Sirajuddin on Monday said the Mufti Mahmood Conference to be held in Peshawar on Oct 14 would set directions for future politics in the province.

Addressing a gathering at the residence of JUI-F provincial executive council member Qazi Ayazuddin in Qaziabad Talash area here, Mr Sirajuddin said the party had finalised its preparations for the upcoming Peshawar event to be attended by party workers and leaders in large numbers.

He said party activists would go to the Oct 14 moot in vehicles.

Without naming the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, JUI-F leader Qazi Ayazuddin said his party had won the 13 years long war against a ‘fitna’ in the country.

He said the JUI-F was not against any individual or group but it would offer strong resistance to every party and individual wanting to introduce the West’s culture and customs in the country.

Mr Ayazuddin said Muslims of the Indian subcontinent gained independence from the British Raj in 1947 but their agents had been ruling them for the last 76 years.

He said it was the time to rid Pakistan of those agents to claim powers from them.

The JUI-F leader asked participants to strengthen the JUI-F.

He said his party was very popular in KP, so it would sweep the upcoming elections to form the government.

Mr Ayazuddin said the JUI-F would come to power in Balochistan province as well.

The other speakers, including JUI-F district naib emir Maulana Mohammad Huzaifa, tehsil emir Maulana Bakht Sardar and leaders Qazi Roohullah and Qazi Burhanuddin, paid tribute to Mufti Mahmood, the father of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, for efforts to enforce Islamic political system in the country.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party central vice-president and nominated candidate for the NA-6 Lower Dir constituency Hussain Shah Yousafzai on Monday said that the solution to problems facing Pakhtuns rested in their unity.

Addressing a convention of party workers in Lajbok area here, Mr Yousafzai asked Pakhtuns to vote for his party for “durable peace and development” in the area.

He said after coming to power, the ANP would focus on the development of education and healthcare sectors in the province.

The ANP leader said the unity of all Pakhtuns was the need of the hour.
