HYDERABAD, Feb 10: Ashura was observed in Sindh towns on Thursday with traditional reverence. No untoward incident was reported from any town of the province.

In Hyderabad, the main mourning procession appeared from Qadamgah Maula Ali and culminated at Karbala Dadan Shah.

Anjuman-i-Hyderi volunteers led the procession. About twenty-three other Anjumans participated in the mourning processions.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement had established a medical camp outside the HBL station branch.

The participants of the mourning procession offered Zohr prayers at the Saint Mary girls’ high school and a Majlis was held in the same area.

NAWABSHAH: Mourning processions with zuljinah and taazia were taken out from various Imambargahs of the city.

The processions after passing through the main thoroughfares, culminated at the Murtazvi Imambargah, where Maulana Mohsin Raza read Sham-i-Ghariban majlis.

Processions were also taken out in Qazi Ahmed, Daulatpur, Sakrand and 60-miles. Medical camps were set up at various places by the MQM and other organizations.

KHAIRPUR: Over 100 mourning processions were taken out in the district’s different towns.

Zuljinah and matami processions were also taken out.

Police and Shahbaz Rangers had made security arrangements.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: About 20 mourning processions were taken out from different places of the district and the nearest villages.

The processions reached Imambargah Manzoor Shah, from where the main mourning procession was taken out which ended at Imambargah Aijaz Memon.

In Kandiaro, 28 mourning processions reached at Markaz-i-Bargah Baqar Shah from where main mourning procession was taken out.

Mourning processions were taken out in Moro, Bhirya Road, Tharushah, Mehrabpur, Darya Khan Mari and Mithiani.

SANGHAR: About 23 mourners were injured in Matam which was performed with chains and swords.

The administration had made strict security arrangements and heavy contingent of police were deployed on all the procession routes.

MIRPURKHAS: Various processions of Alam, zuljinah and tazia were taken out from fifty places of the city.

Close-circuit TVs were fixed at sensitive places to monitor the routes. The processions passed through different roads.

The main procession was taken out from Khari Quarters led by Asad Ali Naqvi and Ziaul Hassan Naqvi. They reached at Imambargah Makhan Shah where Majlis was held.

The speakers said that Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions laid down their lives for Islam.
