LAHORE: PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and chief organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the Israeli bombardment on unarmed Palestinians and called for an immediate end to it.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr Sharif expressed grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of over 2,000 Palestinians, including hundreds of children and women, due to Israeli attacks.

He urged the international community and the Security Council to ensure the protection and observance of the indisputable legal right of the Palestinians to live and be free; otherwise, the world will turn into a pile of ashes.

“The Zionist state has been committing genocide against Palestinians for decades. The UN Security Council should implement its resolutions so that the bloodshed of innocent people can be stopped.”

He said the world must not become a silent spectator to the cruelty and must take practical measures to stop the massacre of innocent people.

Senator Zehri calls for global support against grave injustice

Mr Sharif said the OIC should immediately ensure the provision of water, food and medicine to the Palestinians and all Muslim countries should participate in relief activities.

Separately, the PML-N chief organiser expressed solidarity with Palestinians and demanded the international community put an end to the massacre of Palestinians.

She said the barbaric bombing of unarmed Palestinians is a war crime and attacks on hospitals, caravans, and civilian populations are not the behaviour of a brave and law-abiding nation.

There is great anger among the people of the Islamic world over the massacre of Palestinians and the leadership of Muslim countries should reflect the aspirations of their people, she said.

Balochistan Awami Party Vice President Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri has vehemently denounced the ongoing Israeli brutality in Palestine and vowed to advocate for Palestinian rights at all available forums.

Talking to reporters on Sunday she said that it is the responsibility of the Muslim Ummah not to abandon their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
