TAXILA: Six people were injured, two of them critically, in two road accidents in Attock on Sunday.

According to police sources, four people, including two women, were injured when the car they were traveling in on Hakla-D.I. Khan Motorway fell in a ditch and caught fire near Dhoke Haleem in the limits of Pindigheb police station.

The family was headed towards D.I. Khan when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The occupants received burns and were shifted to different hospitals in Rawalpindi.

In the second incident, two persons traveling on a dumper received critical injuries after a Rawalpindi-bound passenger train coming from Multan hit their vehicle on Rawalpindi-Fatehjang Road in the limits of Fatehjang police station.

Police sources said the dumper driver ignored the passenger train and tried to pass his vehicle on a level crossing, resulting in the train hitting the vehicle and injuring two people on the dumper critically.

Meanwhile, three proclaimed offenders wanted in two murder and attempted murder cases were arrested by Hassanabdal and Taxila police.

As per a police spokesman, Mansoor Jan and Nabi Khan had gone underground after killing a man over an old enmity. They were declared proclaimed offenders (PO) by the court. Later, Hassanabdal police arrested both of them.

Similarly, Taxila police arrested a suspect wanted in a murder and attempted murder case.

According to a police source, Kafayat Shah shot dead one of the brothers of his brother-in-law and injured another over a family feud in May and went underground.

Later, he was declared a proclaimed offender, but police raided his hideout on Sunday and arrested him.
