MOHMAND: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf held a workers’ convention here on Sunday.

Former MNA and PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior vice-president Sajid Khan Mohmand, district president Naveed Khan, and other leaders, including Maulana Amirullah Jaunidi, Fakhre Alam Khan, Mehboob Sher, Qari Rahim Shah, Dr Mohammad Israr Khan and Sajjad Mohmand addressed the convention.

Local PTI office-bearers and village council chairmen from all tehsils participated in large numbers.

The PTI leaders said their peaceful protests would continue till the release of party chairman Imran Khan from jail and an end to ‘oppression’ against party workers across the country.

They accused the district administration and security officials of stopping only PTI from holding peaceful protest rallies, while allowing rest of the parties to carry out their political activities.

They said PTI would make all kinds of sacrifices to serve the people. They said despite suffering ‘state oppression’ PTI was the strongest political party in Mohmand.

The speakers also vowed to continue holding such peaceful conventions and programmes across the district.
