FUTILE EXERCISE: Joint efforts by the caretaker government and Pakistan Army have given hope to the people, with the United States dollar and sugar prices coming down steadily. However, the expected trickledown effect has not been noticed in the markets. Some effective price control mechanism is urgently needed. If the effect of the crackdown fails to reach the people, they are bound to take it as just another exercise in futility.

SCHOOLS AND LABORATORIES: The absence of laboratory facilities in most government schools across Balochistan is a significant obstacle in the way of effective learning, particularly of medical students. Without access to science laboratories, studies are disrupted, and educational experience is compromised. The Balochistan government should take prompt action to address the issue. The provision of laboratory facilities is crucial for quality education and progress of the students.

SHORTAGE OF TEXTBOOKS: The shortage of textbooks in Kandiaro and other areas of Naushahro Feroze district has led to increased student absenteeism. There are 580 schools in the area, and it is not rocket science to calculate the number of textbooks needed. Local teachers have held several demonstrations in this regard, but nothing has changed. The Sindh Textbook Board should take notice of the situation and provide textbooks for the students.

PROTECTING TRANSFORMERS: The load on electric pole transformers is higher in summers than in winters. The efficiency of transformers is also affected by exposure to direct sunlight which results in failure of transformers, or in frequent breakdowns. A simple fiberglass enclosure can save the transformers from direct sunlight. The relevant authorities should consider the proposal seriously.
