MOHMAND: The administration of the Mohmand tribal district has decided to register non-custom paid vehicles in the area.

According to a notification issued here on Thursday, the district administration and police would conduct physical inspection and check record of vehicles from October 23 to November 22 and then the non-custom paid vehicles would be allotted registration stickers and numbers.

A meeting regarding the registration of non-custom paid vehicles was held on the instructions of deputy commissioner Dr Muhammad Ehteshamul Haq in Ghalanai, which was also attended by additional deputy commissioner Shakeel Ahmad, DSP Upper Mohmand Liaquat Ali, assistant commissioner, Upper Mohmand, Sajjad Hussain Afridi, assistant commissioner, Baizai subdivision, Fida Hussain and district accounts officer.

The forum formulated a procedure for registration of non-custom paid vehicles in the tribal district.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner said that the mining sector would be streamlined and no no-objection certificate would be processed without approval from the one-window facilitation centre in the tribal district.

The deputy commissioner was presiding over a meeting held in Ghalanai on Thursday.

The deputy commissioner told the meeting that no NOC would be processed without approval from one-window facilitation centre.

The forum noted that any lease holder found to be providing permits to illegal miners would have his operations ceased forthwith.

The meeting was told that the district police officer would take prompt action against such people, register cases and arrest them.
