Writer and director Abe Forsythe has officially confirmed that Robocop Returns is cancelled due to an insurmountable script issue. This revelation follows Forsythe’s disappointment that his vision, featuring Peter Weller as Robocop, will never materialise.

Amazon’s acquisition of MGM in 2022 sparked hope for the project’s revival, but Forsythe’s version is now shelved permanently. Fans of the iconic 1987 film are left disappointment as they anticipated a fresh take on the beloved franchise.
