HYDERABAD, Feb 11: Terming murder of five youth by police in Gulshan-i-Hadeed area of Karachi as extra-judicial killings, the Pakistan People’s Party-SB has called for a judicial probe into the incident.

The party claimed that Nazeer Jamali, a former guard of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, and four other youth were killed in a fake encounter by police.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the provincial spokesman for the party, Peeral Majidano, said that Nazeer Jamali and others were arrested from different places and brought at one place where they were killed in an alleged police encounter.

He said in the past the MQM had raised great hue and cry over the murder of its party workers in fake encounters, but now when it was a part of the government, it was maintaining a discrete silence on alleged extra-judicial killings of youth.

Our Dadu Correspondent reports: The body of Nazeer Jamali was brought at Waris Jamali village and buried in his native graveyard on Saturday morning.

Nazeer Jamali and four others were allegedly killed in a police encounter in Gulshan-i-Hadeed some three days back.

The mother of the deceased, Saira Jamali told a group of newsmen that on January 26, around 200 police officials led by Naushahro Feroze SP investigation Khalid Mustafa Korai and Hyderabad’s additional DPO Pervez Chandio raided their village.

She said police arrested Nazeer, took away a licensed pistol and a motorcycle from her house.

She said she had complained to high officials but police had not declared the arrest and showed a fake encounter in Karachi and killed her son.

The sister of deceased, Haleeman Jamali said that when they complained to high officials against arrest of Nazeer, they threatened that he would be killed in a fake encounter if they had complained to high officials.

Cousin of deceased, Younus Jamali said that he had filed applications in the court of district and sessions judge Dadu against police on the day of arrest.

He said that his cousin was killed in a fake encounter in Karachi.

He appealed to President Pervez Musharraf to take action against police officers involved in the fake encounter.

Hundreds of activists of the PPP-SB from different districts staged a demonstration against the killing of Nazeer Jamali in the fake encounter.

They were led by PPP (SB) leaders Ali Mohammad Jamali, Mir Hassan Jamali and Sikandar Bhutto.

They said that they would hold protests, rallies and demonstrations in the province against the killing of their colleague.

The activists and relatives blocked the link road.

Demonstrations were also held in Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar in protest against killing of Nazeer Jamali.
