KASUR: Phoolnagar police on Sunday lodged a murder case against unidentified killer(s) who murdered a 13-year-old boy, beheaded the body and threw it in the fields near Dina Nath village.

As per locals, the boy, Ali Hasan (13), a resident of Dina Nath village, had gone missing since Thursday last, while his beheaded, stripped body was spotted by a local farmer in the corn fields some 500 meters away from the village on Saturday.

On the phone call by the farmer, a team of Phoolnagar police arrived at the scene and took custody of the body in custody, which was identified as that of Ali Hasan.

As per the police, the victim, who worked at a tailor’s shop in the village on daily wages, had allegedly left the shop on Thursday but did not reach home.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) Zulifiqar Ali, the victim might have been subjected to sexual assault, but the police awaited the autopsy report to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder.

He says the medical officer, who conducted the postmortem examination of the body, has gone on leave without issuing the report.

The SHO says that initial police inquiries have revealed that some youths closely associated with the victim have left the village following the incident without informing anyone.

He says the police are looking for the suspects, besides probing into the murder from various angles.
