PARIS: Two goals by Aleksandr Golovin allowed Monaco to come from a goal down to beat Metz 2-1 at home in Ligue 1 on Sunday and reclaim top spot, as winless Olympique Lyonnais slumped to the foot of the table.

Monaco now sit one point clear of Nice at the top of the table, on 20 points from nine games, and two above Paris St Germain in third.

Lamine Camara gave Metz a surprise lead in the fourth minute but Monaco levelled minutes before the break through Golovin. He curled in a free-kick around the wall early in the second half to give the hosts the lead.

Lyon’s abysmal start to the campaign continued as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Clermont. Fabio Grosso’s side have only three points on the board.

Lille beat Brest 1-0 which saw them climb above their opponents into fourth on goal difference.

Toulouse and Reims played a 1-1 draw while Nantes beat Montpellier 2-0.
