KARACHI: Lucky Core Industries Ltd told investors on Monday its net profit for July-September amounted to Rs2.5 billion, up 41 per cent from a year ago. The rise in earnings was due to a higher gross profit and an 8.3 times increase in other income, said Arif Habib Ltd.

Separately, Nishat Power Ltd said its earnings for the first quarter of 2023-24 remained Rs1.4bn, up 55pc year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the profit of Cherat Cement Company Ltd for July-September rose 3.4pc to Rs1.5bn.

As for Fauji Foods Ltd, the firm recorded a net profit of Rs38.5 million in July-September versus a net loss of Rs690.4m a year ago.

Net income of Adamjee Life Assurance Ltd for the July-September quarter amounted to Rs274.4m, up 46.4pc from a year before.

Abbott Laboratories Ltd told investors its net profit for the quarter ending on Sept 30 plunged to Rs6.6m from Rs784.9m a year ago.
