LAHORE: A group of people who are alleged victims of a housing society fraud lodged their complaints before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Director General (DG) Amjad Majeed Aulakh who held an open court hearing on Friday.
The affected people from Al-Haram Garden, Khayaban-i-Amin Housing Society, Rahman Garden (Phase-4), and Lahore Garden submitted their complaints.
The DG issued directives to the concerned investigation officers.
The complainants against Al-Haram Garden stated that the society administration sold plots without obtaining approval from the relevant regulatory authorities.
The DG said that the bureau intends to take strict action against this society. Additionally, the other projects, namely Safari Garden and Hijweri Homes under the same administration, were also under the NAB’s scrutiny.
Regarding the Khayaban-i-Amin Housing Society, he said that internal disputes within the society’s administration were causing suffering to thousands of people.
In this context, the bureau has requested the court to allow the liquidation of properties owned by the accused individuals (Allah Ditta Heera and Sahir Rasheed) so that the thousands of affected people can be compensated by selling these properties.
He said the bureau has already frozen the properties of the suspects, which cannot be sold without prior approval from the NAB.
Addressing the affected individuals from Rahman Garden (Phase-IV), the DG stated that an investigation team had been assigned to take strict action based on the complaints received during the open hearing and to submit a proper report on the matter.
Mr Aulakh also instructed to prioritise assistance to the majority of affected people who appeared in connection with the administration of Lahore Garden.
