KOHAT: A chairmen of a local council belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf and another worker of PTI announced here on Saturday to quit the party.

They also condemned the vandalism on May 9 during PTI protest and rejected what they called the anti-state narrative of the party.

Raees Khan, the chairman of Suleman Talab council, and Amjid Khan Mughal criticised attacks on army and state installations on May 9. They said that they parted ways with PTI over its anti-state narrative.

They said that they would not take part in any activities of PTI. They said that they should be pardoned for belonging to poor families. They said that they had no connection with PTI district president Aftab Iqbal, secretary general and chairman of Gumbat tehsil Sajid Iqbal and Khurram Shehzad.

FESTIVAL: The members of Hindu community organised their annual function here on Saturday by singing songs and beating drums besides carrying their religious idols on a hand carriage that entered the local bazaar from the Kind Gate side.

After passing through Zargaran Street, the procession ended at Brigade Mandar. The participants of the procession were holding the statues of their goddesses.

The function will last for a few days during which food and sweets will be served with special programmes for children.
