LAHORE: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has acquired 369 kanal (46.125 acres) land for the construction of a 220 kV grid station in Gujranwala.

The land award process was finally completed by the Land Acquisition Collector (LAC) under the section-11 on Oct 26, which is the final stage of the land acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

According to a spokesman, the establishment of 220 KV grid station at Gujranwala will improve the voltage profile of the area besides benefiting the domestic, industrial, commercial and agricultural consumers and helping to meet the growing demand for electricity in the area. “The land acquisition has enabled us to launch civil work on the project as soon as possible,” the spokesman added.

On the other hand, the NTDC Managing Director Engr. Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan has also appreciated the efforts of the NTDC team, which remained in continuous liaison with the local administration to complete the land acquisition process.
