RAFAH: Egypt is engaging at all levels to resolve the “unprecedented humanitarian crisis” in Gaza, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Tuesday during a visit to the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the Gaza strip.

“Egypt is engaging at all levels starting with the political leadership with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to all state agencies that are moving to solve this unprecedented humanitarian crisis that the innocent residents of the Gaza strip are exposed to today,” Madbouly said, according to Reuters.

The two-state solution is the comprehensive solution that will ensure peace in the region, he added.

He also said his country was ready to “sacrifice millions of lives” for the Sinai peninsula in an apparent reference to reports of Israel’s intelligence ministry’s wartime draft proposal to transfer the Gaza Strip’s 2.3 million people to the region.

Document from Israeli ministry suggests ‘forced displacement’ of Gazans to Egypt, WikiLeaks claims

“Egypt will never allow anything to be imposed on it,” Madbouly said, adding regional issues would not be solved at the country’s “expense”, Al Arabia quoted him as saying.

On Monday, Dawn.com reported that WikiLeaks, citing a document from the Israeli Military of Intelligence on Oct 13, says Israel has suggested that the “forced displacement” of Gaza civilians to Egypt would “yield positive and long-term strategic results”.

“The advisory document envisions a three-stage process including the establishment of tent cities in Sinai and opening of a humanitarian corridor, followed by construction of cities in northern Sinai from which there would be no return to Gaza,” the whistleblower website said in a post on X.

The document available with WikiLeaks is in Hebrew language. It has also been reported by Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the report said.
