HARIPUR: Two persons were killed after a van struck their motorcycle on Sirikot Road near Bhera village, police and hospital sources said here on Saturday.

The police said the cause of the accident was reckless driving by the van driver.

Police quoted witnesses as saying that a Sirikot-bound van hit a motorcycle while overtaking another van, leaving the two persons riding the motorcycle critically injured. The van driver managed to escape from the scene.

The area people removed the injured persons to the trauma centre, where they succumbed to head injuries.

The injured were identified as Naveed Shah Mashwani and Shah Faisal Mashwani, residents of Chontray village.
