QUETTA: An explosion on railway tracks, which had recently been restored to resume train service between Sibi and Harnai, left three passengers injured on Sunday.

Railway police said a train from Harnai was on its way to Sibi when the blast took place.

They explained that an explosive device, planted by unidentified persons on the tracks, went off when train was passing through the Babar Kach area of Sibi.

Three passengers received minor injuries while a portion of the tracks and one coach was slightly damaged, officials said, adding that the injured were rushed to hospital.

Railway officials said the tracks was immediately repaired after which the train resumed its journey to Sibi.
