Turkey pressed Blinken for ‘immediate’ ceasefire in Gaza: source

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan pressed visiting US State Secretary Antony Blinken to support an “immediate” ceasefire in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, a Turkish diplomatic source said, AFP reports.

“Minister Fidan requested an immediate ceasefire in Gaza,” the source said, adding that the sides agreed “on the need to prevent civilians from being harmed in Gaza”.
