The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has escorted a four-ambulance convoy of patients from Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to the Rafah border crossing, breaking a temporary suspension in evacuations following an Israeli strike on an ambulance, Reuters reports.
“It is an immense relief to know that these patients are safe and will receive urgent medical care,” William Schomburg, the head of the ICRC’s office in Gaza, in a statement.
Two vehicles from the ICRC accompanied the ambulances, the statement said.
