CHITRAL: The students of local schools and colleges evinced great interest in science and art exhibition held here under the auspices of Shaheed Osama Warraich Career Academy (SOWCA).

Different themes and projects were presented by the students in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, information technology and art. A large number of people from all walks of life visited the exhibition and took interest in the stalls set up by ‘young scientists’.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali Khan and DPO Ikramullah gave away prizes to the students participating in the exhibition.

They said that the students of Chitral were second to none regarding their talents and hidden potentials. They said that students proved it in the talent show.

They said that students should be inculcated with tendency of critical and rational thinking, which was the basis of adopting scientific approach.

The officials appreciated the relentless efforts of SOWCA director Fida Rehman in promoting talent of students in Chitral.

As part of the celebrations of the 8th anniversary of SOWCA, Excellence Awards were conferred upon different personalities for their valuable contributions.

The awards were given to Shahzada Tanveer in literature, Dr Said Ahmed in medicine, Hedayatullah in social work, Arbab Quli in sports, Zahiruddin in media, Asia Jamal in women empowerment, Muneerul Mulk in policing, Zahir Shah in administration and Shiekh Iqbal in tourism.
