BANKING OMBUDSMAN: This is with reference to the letter ‘Banking ombudsman’ (Nov 5). The office of the Banking Mohtasib Pakistan (Banking Ombudsman) under the relevant sections of the Banking Companies Ordinance (BCO), 1962, has the jurisdiction to entertain complaints against commercial banks regarding banking malpractices and maladministrations, provided a complaint is first lodged. The procedure for lodging complaint against commercial banks is available on the website of the Banking Mohtasib, and a complaint may also be sent directly to the Banking Ombudsman Secretariat at the relevant address

ILLOGICAL UPROAR: Every country has the right to dispel illegal settlers, and this right is beyond doubt or debate. POSH AREA: The area I live in was considered a posh locality till a few years ago. But the situation has changed drastically now. Hordes of garbage pickers, carrying big bags of trash on their shoulders, roam the streets rummaging through waste dumps. They are followed by stray dogs. Incidents of theft in the area have increased significantly. The authorities concerned should realise their responsibilities, and have all these problems resolved.
