LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed over a property dispute in Miralam Manjiwala area of Lakki Marwat on Thursday, the police said.

Officials of the city police station said Rasool Khan, 53, was going to a mosque to offer evening prayers when his rivals, Rehmatullah and Abdul Rahim, opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.

Nasir Hussain, a son of the deceased, told the police that he was in the mosque when the incident took place. He said his father had a property dispute with the killers.

The police said the body was handed over to relatives after postmortem at the Government City Hospital.

They registered a case against the alleged killers.

Meanwhile, lawyers have demanded launching work on the approved project of a judicial complex in Naurang town.

The demand was made at a meeting held here on Thursday. The participants thanked the Peshawar High Court chief justice and Lakki Marwat district and sessions judge and senior civil judge for realising the genuine demand of the legal fraternity.

The lawyers said the approval of the project was a step towards providing justice to people at their doorsteps.

Also, former Lakki tehsil nazim Faridullah Khan Meenakhel Advocate has asked the government to construct a judicial complex on a military ground in Lakki city.

Talking to reporters on Thursday, he welcomed the approval of judicial complex in Naurang.

“In 2007, the government had shifted the courts from Lakki city to the newly-established judicial complex near Tajazai,” he said, adding litigants from Lakki city and adjacent areas faced trouble while going to the courts as they were located at a distance of 14 kilometres from the city.
