SAHIWAL: Two brick kilns were sealed in Pakpattan for violating the Standard Operating Procedures issued for smog mitigation.

Pakpattan Deputy Commissioner Sadia Mahar on her visit to these sites charged the brick kiln owners with Rs 300,000 each and directed the local environment departments to be vigilant in light of increasing pollution and smog.

During her field visit, she surveyed the agricultural lands and interacted with the commission agents at Chowk Jamal asking for their cooperation to ensure that the farmers do not burn crop residues.

PUTRID BEEF: Local beef-sellers in Ada Bahadur Shah were caught red-handed by a Livestock Department team for selling unhygienic beef.

On a routine inspection, District Veterinary Officer Dr Usama inspected a beef shop selling unhygienic and putrid meat. A case was immediately filed against the shop owner who fled the scene but his son Waqar Goga was detained by police since he was also booked in the case.
