GUJRAT: The city will have a model e-registration centre at a cost of Rs56 million for being a divisional headquarter.

Moreover, the existing sub-registrar offices in three tehsils of Gujrat district will also be revamped at a cost of Rs18 million and a sum of Rs15 million will be spent on improving the buildings and facilities at the arazi record centres (ARCs) across the district.

This was revealed by Gujrat Deputy Commissioner Safdar Virk while presiding over a meeting of the district development committee here on Thursday.

Official sources said the model e-registration centre would be built at the parking area in the compound of the Gujrat tehsil office as the existing registration centre was already located in the main building of the tehsil office where Gujrat assistant commissioner office had also been functional.

They said aimed at improving facilities for the masses regarding the land revenue-related services, the Punjab government had planned to establish such model registration centres at the divisional headquarters level across the province.
