HYDERABAD, Feb 16: Employees and paramedical staff of the Wali Bhai Rajputana charitable hospital staged protests on Thursday against removal of the honorary chairman of the administrative committee of the hospital, Prof Salahuddin Siddiqui.

The employees boycotted the work for first session of the day and then resumed their work when Mr Siddiqui arrived there on their request.

According to hospital’s deputy medical superintendent, Dr Khan Mohammad Almani, the new administrator and one Qazi Nisar had occupied the chairman’s room.

The staff entered the chairman’s room in presence of Baldia police and raised slogans against the administrator and Qazi Nisar.

They forced them to leave and some staff members also assaulted and pushed Qazi Nisar.

The situation would have turned violent had not police rescued them.

Both of them left the hospital after a few hours.

Dr Almani said that Mr Siddiqui had endeavoured for development of the hospital and improved its working.

He said that various wards were set up during his tenure and staff members respected him like their father.

He said that Mr Siddiqui was forced to resign by the All-Pakistan Rajputana Federation which runs the hospital.

EDO revenue Abdul Sattar Jatoo and TPO headquarter Aslam Rajput arrived at the hospital and talked to Prof Siddiqui.

They obtained copies of rules and regulations of the hospital and details of hospital’s works.
