LAHORE: Up to 2,705 degrees were awarded to graduates at the 30th convocation of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Monday.
Up to 1,643 graduates, 1,022 MS/MPhil, 40 PhD degrees and 61 gold medals were distributed at the ceremony.
Of them, 2,126 graduates were from the UET Lahore Campus, 347 from New Campus Kala Shah Kaku, 81 from Faisalabad Campus, 61 from Rachna College of Engineering and Technology of Gujranwala, and 90 graduates of UET Narowal Campus.
The convocation was presided over by Governor /Chancellor Balighur Rahman. He said the journey of UET and engineering spans a century. Today, Pakistan is making progress rapidly due to UET’s engineers.
UET Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Habibur Rehman highlighted the achievements of the university, saying that in order to empower its students, UET offers them support in getting jobs while also encouraging students who are going towards entrepreneurship.
According to him, the university has always been awarded many scholarships worth thousands of dollars due to its graduates. At the end of convocation students looked excited and they cheered by blowing their convocation caps in the air.
