LAHORE: The families of the government employees who die in the line of duty will get a relief package equivalent to the one being given to the police martyrs.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced this on Monday, giving approval to a plan in this regard, while presiding over the 13th meeting of the cabinet standing committee on finance and development.
He also gave nod to extending a comparable aid package to the injured government employees. Naqvi addressed the financial assistance case of the family of a late excise inspector Muhammad Rafi, who died in the line of duty, and of another, Sanaullah Bhatti, who was injured in the same incident.
The CM approved aid package equivalent to that of the police employees in both cases.
Inspector Rafi lost his life, and Bhatti sustained serious injuries and disability when some drug dealers opened fire on them during a raid in Rahim Yar Khan.
Naqvi also inspected the Cavalry Ground underpass to monitor the progress in the work.
He directed the officers concerned and the contractor to ensure high-quality finishing work on the project and said the facility would be opened soon for the commuters’ convenience.
